As founder and
president of Zaviah, Imran Qidwai delivers his unique strategic
perspective and guidance based on more than 20 years of
experience in the global computer and telecommunications industry, with
the past 7 years in the mobile market. Experienced in managing
distributed development
teams between US & offshore locations, he is knowledgeable in the
current trends in offshoring, outsourcing and BPO.
Tapping his vast
experience in mobile entertainment and data services, mobile messaging,
and
location and presence as well as his
extensive
experience in software engineering management, Imran created Zaviah as
a strategic resource for global executives looking to navigate the
myriad issues and challenges of formulating effective technology
strategies. Zaviah works closely with its clients to address the
constantly evolving wireless and telecommunications market, as well as
the intricacies of effective offshoring and outsourcing business models.
During his career, Imran has worked at large and small, publicly traded
and private companies and in 1999, as an entrepreneur himself,
co-founded MessageMachines, Inc., a Boston based startup focused on the
mobile and wireless messaging and data market. After a successful run,
the company was acquired by NMS Communications in April 2002. More
recently, he joined the founding team of Web 2.0 startup Scrybe, and
helped the company raise angel financing in early 2007.
Imran spent many years at Lotus Development (acquired by IBM), where he
managed various
engineering groups in the areas of wireless messaging, mobile
communications, unified messaging, computer telephony, real-time
spreadsheets, and SaaS and ASP solutions. Imran was also VP of
Engineering at
SoftLinx, focused on
Internet based fax messaging products for the enterprise. Imran’s
career experiences have touched several global technology
icons, with work experience at such industry leaders as NMS
Communications, Digital Equipment (HP/Compaq), Philips
Electronics, and International Computers Limited (Fujitsu).
